L-Glutathione – 250 mg reduced L‑Glutathione
L-Glutathione capsules from BioProphyl® contain 250 mg pure, reduced L‑Glutathione (G‑SH) in optimal combination with the trace element manganese.
Glutathione is a sulfur‑containing tripeptide composed of the amino acids glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. It is a component of all body cells, but has particular significance especially in red blood cells, the erythrocytes.
In our metabolism it naturally exists in both the oxidized and the reduced form. However, only the reduced form is used for dietary supplementation.
Glutathione with the bonus of nutrients: an unbeatable team
To keep glutathione in its reduced form for as long as possible, further vitamins are recommended. These include especially the trace elements selenium and zinc in combination with the antioxidant vitamins C and E as well as folic acid, vitamin B12 and manganese. Except for manganese, all of these are found in our multivitamin product Shield. Since the trace element manganese is not included in Shield, L‑Glutathione has been supplemented with manganese.
Manganese contributes to the protection of cells against oxidative stress and additionally plays a role in maintaining healthy bones and is involved in the formation of connective tissue as well as in energy metabolism.
