Folic Acid DHA for a Healthy Pregnancy
Folic Acid DHA is specifically tailored to the development of the child in the womb and specifically addresses the increased nutrient needs of mother and child. Two capsules contain 200 mg DHA, 57 mg magnesium, 3.5 mg iron, 2.5 µg vitamin D3, 400 µg folic acid, as well as 100% of the daily recommended intake of B vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, biotin, and pantothenic acid. The capsules are free from any artificial auxiliary and additive substances and are 100% vegan.
Folic Acid and DHA for the Healthy Development of the Child
The B vitamin folic acid cannot be produced by the body itself and must therefore be obtained through food. The increased requirement during pregnancy is difficult to cover through diet alone. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) therefore recommends, in addition to a folate-rich diet, the daily intake of 400 μg folic acid at least four weeks before the beginning of pregnancy and during the first trimester.
Folic acid plays important roles in the body in cell division and blood formation and is also essential for the growth of maternal tissue.
The intake of the omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) during pregnancy and breastfeeding is important for the normal development of the child’s brain and eyes. The positive effect occurs with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA, in addition to the recommended daily dose.
