Vegan Omega-3 Source: Algae Oil (formerly Algenkraft) Capsules with High EPA & DHA Content
The marine microalga Schizochytrium has a high content of omega-3 fatty acids and is particularly rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). EPA and DHA should definitely not be missing from your daily diet, as they are essential for maintaining healthy heart function.
Omega-3 fatty acids support vascular and heart health by helping to maintain normal blood triglyceride levels and normal blood pressure. Furthermore, DHA is especially important for brain function and vision. It makes up a significant proportion of all membrane lipids in the brain and retina, and together with EPA, ensures normal neuronal functions. That is why the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA.
Each BioProphyl algae oil capsule contains 524 mg of algae oil with 94 mg of EPA and 210 mg of DHA, making it ideal for:
-
Vegans
-
Vegetarians
-
and people who do not consume fish

Algae Oil Capsules by BioProphyl: Sustainable Production in a Closed System
The microalgae from which our omega-3 oil is obtained do not come from the sea but are sustainably cultivated in special containers made of stainless steel. This preserves valuable resources and protects the environment.
The cultivation of the algae takes place under so-called heterotrophic conditions in a closed system. This method does not require light or carbon dioxide (CO₂), which completely eliminates contact with potential environmental contaminants. Instead, the algae are provided with sugar and acetic acid as sources of energy and carbon.
To obtain the valuable algae oil, the cell walls of the algae are broken down. This process takes place under almost oxygen-free conditions to protect the oil from oxidation as effectively as possible. To ensure the highest product quality, odor and accompanying substances are removed from the oil, and in the final step, it is gently filtered using cold filtration.
Algae Oil and Iodine
Due to cultivation in a controlled environment and the use of special nutrient solutions, the algae are unable to absorb and accumulate iodine in their cells. Should trace amounts of iodine still be present, they are removed during the oil processing. This means that you can safely consume the algae oil capsules even as part of a low-iodine diet.
